Location Costa de la Luz
The Costa De La Luz or " coast of light " is a 200km stretch of beautiful coastline to the far south-west of Andalucia, past Ayamonte to Tarifa, opposite Gibraltar. This coast faces the Atlantic Ocean and has some of the most beautiful sandy white beaches in Spain. It is said to be one of the most unspoilt areas in this region.

Getting to the Costa de La Luz
Faro, although in Portugal, is just 45 mins away from Ayamonte by car. Seville is around an hour away from the coast by car and Seville airport is 10km north east

Climate on the Costa de la Luz
The climate here is slightly cooler in summer than along the Mediterranean
coastline and the area is ideal for watersports, especially around Tarifa - probably the best windsurfing location in Europe. The Mediterranean climate and proximity to the north of
Africa mean that winter temperatures seldom fall below 10 degrees C. Maximum temperatures seldom rise above a moderate 30 degrees C thanks to the Atlantic breeze.
Attractions on the Costa de la Luz
In general the Cost de la Luz is quieter than its neighbours. Golfers are spoilt for choice. Isla Canela, Islantilla ( 27 holes ), El Rompido and Nuevo Portil are nearby and just into Portugal are Castro Marim, Benamor and the two Quinta courses of
Ria and Cima. The huge Wet lands of Coto Doñana national park divide the coast in two and attract thousands of birds traveling between Africa and Europe.
It is a haven for eagles, turtles and Lynx.
The largest City on the Costa de la Luz is Cadiz, which has some of the oldest buildings in Europe and is steeped in history.
